DAVAO CITY Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte is clueless why three opposition councilors were left out in the allocation of new vehicles distributed by the City Mayor's Office last week.

In his weekly television program "Pulong-pulong ni Pulong," Vice Mayor Duterte said it is the call of the executive department who would be given the new service vehicles.

He said he has no idea as to why the three opposition councilors were left out.

The vice mayor said that even his office has also not received a new Toyota Avanza unit, which reportedly cost P690,000 each.

The young Duterte said though that he still has his old Ford Ranger that is still in working condition.

The councilors earlier requested that a 4x4 pickup be issued to them so they could use it when going to the mountains. Mayor Rodrigo Duterte however dismissed the request since each pickup would cost more than a million pesos.

Vice Mayor Duterte, however, said that if the councilors really wanted to serve their constituents in the hinterlands then they can ride a horse.

Those who did not receive a brand new Toyota Avanza are Councilors Joanne Bonguyan-Quilos, Diosdado Mahipus, and Rene Elias Lopez.

Bonguyan-Quilos belongs to the National Unity Party; Lopez is a candidate of Nationalist People's Coalition; and Mahipus was a member of the Hugpong Party but was dropped from the roster after he campaigned for Joji Ilagan-Bian, the rival of Hugpong's candidate second district Representative Mylene Garcia-Albano.
