SOME 50 employees of the Bureau of Custom (BOC)-Davao were placed under random drug testing last Monday at the Port of Davao.

BOC-Davao public information officer Fatima Espino said the random drug testing was conducted on all the 27 officers of the Enforcement and Security Service, while some employees from the administration division were included.

"This is to establish the credibility and integrity of the BOC-Davao officials assigned at the Port of Davao and its sub-ports. This is to prove that district collector Ernesto Aradanas is serious in improving not only the systems and processes within the agency but the perception of the public towards its employees as well," Espino said.

Admin division head Marie Fe Eltagonde, meanwhile, said around one-thirds of their 80-man division were also subject for random drug tests.

"We could have conducted a drug test on all of our employees but most them were on the field," Eltagonde said.

The admin head also said they are expecting the results of the random drug tests Thursday.
