PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte just had a brief meeting during the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) Summit held in the city last Wednesday.

Speaking in his Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa program Sunday morning, Duterte said there were no serious talks between him and the President.

He said he just greeted Aquino when he arrived in the city and wished him a safe trip back to Manila after the summit.

“Pag-abot niya, siyempre host city gud ka, the mayor welcomes the President. Tapos paglakaw niya, ‘Arrive Manila safely, Mr. President (As host city, when the President arrived, I welcomed him and when he left, I bade him a safe trip),” Duterte said.

Aquino arrived more than an hour late during the Armm Summit held at the Waterfront Insular Hotel.

The press conference that was supposed to follow did not push through as the President left right after spending an hour at the summit. (ANC)
