2 robbers killed in Tugbok shootout-A A +A

TWO suspected robbers were killed in a shootout with members of Tugbok police in Barangay Angalan in Tugbok Proper, Davao City on Friday evening.
Chief Inspector Ariel Acala, chief of the Tugbok police, identified only one of the two suspects as Rolando Panes, 44, a driver, of NHA Relocation in Bangkal.
Police said the incident happened around 6:20 p.m. at Purok 13 in Angalan.
Police investigation revealed that a robbery incident happened around 2:20 p.m. at a store at the nearby sitio Naming, owned by Grace Imperial Murillo.
According to the victim, she was inside the store when two unidentified men on board a motorcycle appeared in front of her.
She said the one wearing red shirt and black jacket pulled out a gun and declared a heist, while the other took the P2,000 proceeds of the store.
The suspects fled to unknown direction while the victim reported the incident to the police.
Personnel of the Tugbok police launched a pursuit operation and encountered the suspects at Purok 13 in Angalan.
The authorities were supposed to arrest the suspects, who resisted and instead pulled out their guns and fired at the arresting policemen. A shootout ensued killing the two suspects.
Panes was identified through his identification card. The bodies of the suspects were brought to Angel Funeral Parlor.
Recovered from the possession of the suspects include identification cards, a revolver, a 9mm pistol, six live ammunition, and cash.
