Cabbie faces charges of reckless imprudence

A TAXI driver is facing charges before the City Prosecutor's Office after killing one and injuring two others in a vehicular accident at Shrine Hills in Matina, Davao City on Wednesday.

Facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and physical injuries is Jade Cyril Veloso, driver of the Jumjum Taxi.

Veloso was charged for running over and killing Rubelyn Lamigas, 42, and injuring James Bryan Medida and Merlyn Baltazar Tabanas.


Investigation of the Talomo police revealed that Veloso was travelling along Carlos P. Garcia Highway at 10:40 a.m. and took a short cut at the Shrine Hills towards McArthur Highway where the victims were side-swept.

Veloso rushed the victims to the Davao Adventist Hospital but Lamigas died.

Veloso is now detained at the Talomo Police Station after he surrendered to the police.
