THE City Government of Davao is yet to announce the decision made against five erring employees of the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), pending the approval of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
City administrator lawyer Melchor Quitain said they cannot divulge details on the recommendation of the panel of investigators yet since Duterte still has the final say on it whether the latter will or will not concur with the decision.
Quitain had a closed-door meeting with the panel of investigators composed of Lawyers Tristan Dwight Domingo, Jhopee Avanceña-Agustin, and City Legal Office (CLO) head Osmundo Villanueva Jr. as the chair around 10 a.m. Friday.
He said the panel presented to him the copy of the 18-page decision. According to him, he “strongly recommends” the decision made by the panel.
“I will also recommend the approval of the report and the approval of the recommendations of the panel investigators. (But) you will know when the mayor acts on it,” he said.
The anomaly allegedly involved some P9 million.
“Iba-iba ang amount involved per employee,” Agustin earlier said.
Leo Villareal, City Information Officer, said Quitain is expected to announce the decision on Monday, January 20, after the regular department head’s meeting.
