ONE was killed while another is in critical condition in separate stabbing incidents in Davao City.
The first incident transpired around 9 p.m. Sunday in Barangay 5-A in Bankerohan.
The slain victim was identified as Ariel Bakioa Morales, 49, laborer and a native of Caraga, Davao Oriental, while the suspect was identified as Orlando Gambong Ortiz, 50, a resident of Pantukan, Compostela Valley Province.
Based on initial investigation conducted by Police Officer 2 (PO2) Julieto Honor Jr. of San Pedro police, the suspect and the victim were having a drinking spree at the latter’s residence.
A heated altercation ensued, provoking the suspect to stab the victim on his abdomen. The suspect fled to an unknown direction, while the victim was brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) by responding police officers. The victim was pronounced dead-on-arrival by attending physicians.
San Pedro police is now conducting a manhunt operation for the apprehension of the suspect.
The other incident happened around 3 a.m. Monday at Carpenter St. The victim was identified as Alfredo Abian Marquez, 18, a resident of Pampanga, Lanang. One of the six suspects was identified as alias Richard, a resident of Gotamco, Barangay Leon Garcia.
Initial investigation conducted by Sta. Ana police revealed that the victim was about to buy cigarettes from a store in the said street when six males approached the victim.
Based on the testimony of one Jalani Palmon, the victim was suddenly stabbed three times on his back by one of the suspects.
The victim was rushed to SPMC where he is still under critical condition while the suspects scampered to an unknown direction.
Sta. Ana police is now conducting further investigation for the identification and apprehension of the suspects.
