Buy-bust operations net 5

FIVE individuals, including two women and a minor, were arrested by police operatives in a series of buy-bust operations in Davao City Wednesday.

The first operation jointly conducted by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Davao and Sta. Ana Police Station netted five persons around 6:15 a.m. in Isla Verde, Quezon Boulevard.

Arrested were Maria Elsa Dumape Argota, 21, a resident of South San Juan, Barangay Centro Agdao; Rhea Nakilan Quidato, 29, married and resident of Purok 3, Isla Verde Quezon Boulevard. Two were allegedly having a shabu session just outside of Quidato's house.


Seized from the suspects were two improvised aluminum foil, three tooters, two lighters and three sachets of shabu.

A minor also fell into the hands of law enforcers in another buy-bust operation conducted by PDEA in Purok 2, Quezon Boulevard, Barangay 76-A.

Recovered from the suspect was one sachet of shabu and the P500 marked money.

Also arrested were Aldrin Enguito Alibo, 23, a resident of Block 84, Mabini Extension, Barangay 37-D.

Seized from Alibo are one sachet of shabu and P500 marked money.

Around 4 p.m. that same day, PDEA operatives also collared one Esmeraldo Magandam Armada, alias Lotlot, 32, married and resident of Barangay 1-A, Bolton Extension.

Seized from Armada were one sachet of shabu and the P1,000 marked money.

The four suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the minor is now under the custody of the Women and Children Protection Desk. (JPC)
