DEAR Selma K. of Nabunturan,

Let us now again continue on our quest. Whew! We're still on the other causes of your falling hair problem. But, we have to exhaust all the details because we need them -- so, we can tackle your problem best. Remember if we know what causes it, we can deal with the situation right.

14. Autoimmune Diseases and Lupus

Lupus can cause scarring in your scalp. This only means that your hair will not grow back because of this. So, if this is your case, all you can do is to change your hair style to cover those bald patches. That's why, you better shy away from wearing long hair. If you want to cover those bald patches, you better wear your hair short or just get all the way bald. Remember some celebrities... instead of wearing some wigs to cover their baldness, they went for the ultimate bald or "Kojak" look. But, since you are not a man, you can choose to wear them short. But, if your thinning hair is on top, you can wear them long and just whirl them there. Just be sure to fix them loose.

15. Drastic Weight Loss

If you lose so much weight in a short time, this can cause your hair to fall. So, if you are suffering from eating disorders like Bulimia and Anorexia Nervosa, there's a good chance that you might lose not just weight, but your hair as well. That is why, you have to eat right so, you'll not lose the important nutrients that your body needs to make your hair grow and glow healthy.

16. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS

Remember that when your hormones are out of balance, this can lead to hair fall. The excess of androgens can lead to ovarian cysts which then, affects your menstrual cycle. This polycystic ovarian syndrome can make your hormones lose their balance and thus, your hair to fall.

Now, as we already know the causes why your hairs fall, let us now get to how to treat them, using effective home remedies you can try.

By the way, you were right for opting for natural products rather than the chemicals that are available in the market today because they may cause more harm than good to your hair. But, if you want to control your hair fall, you have to add in some basic practices in your hair care routine along with the treatments that I would be suggesting -- that is, if you want better results. Since these are natural formulations, you have to keep up with your patience until you get the results you want.

But, as we're again running out of space this time, then, please allow me again to continue this topic on the next issue of my column. Until then!
