IT'S every woman's dream to celebrate her 18th birthday in a fairy-tale themed party. But, debutant Nicole Bianca Catabas-Evangelista is unlike the other.

Nicole, daughter of couple Gerardo and Maria Victoria, chose to celebrate her birthday in a simple celebration with the kids.

Last July 20 this year, joined by her family and closest friends, the debutant woke up early, and got herself busy preparing the gifts not for herself but for her chosen charities.

Their first stop was at the Missionaries of Charity where Nicole and her family fed the kids with nutritious foods they prepared and gave them the gifts.

The group also shared happiness to the patients of House of Hope, inside Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

It was good to see the smiles and hear the giggles of the children with cancer, sharing with them the joy and blessings felt by Nicole on her birthday.

The last stop of the group was at the Home for the Aged that provides shelter for the homeless lolo's and lola's.

Despite not having a grand birthday bash, Nicole has no regrets for she feels that it's much fulfilling to extend help to others, instead of having a lavish celebration.

"It's never a bad decision to share your blessings among the less privileged," Nicole shared.

The debutant is currently studying in one of the universities in the city.

Stripped of a grand ball and gifts, it was a birthday more grandiose nonetheless.

She said that she is just lucky enough to have a wonderful parents and a supportive brother, who help her out in conceptualizing a special mission for her 18th birthday.

Happy birthday lady =)
