LOCAL Chief Executives of Datu Abdullah Sangki of Maguindanao and Makati City signed an agreement to formally establish a "Twinning Relationship" between the two local government units (LGUs).

Conducted during the 344th foundation anniversary of the city, Mayor Jejomar Erwin S. Binay formally welcomed Mayor Mariam S. Mangudadatu together with Mohajeran K. Balayman, Municipal Administrator and 10 of the barangay chairmen of the Maguindanao town.

"This sisterhood we have with Makati City will help us in many ways," Mayor Mangudadatu said.

Mangudadatu emphasized that they will learn many ideas and knowledge for practical employment, urban planning, science and technology, education, and public health to boost their economic status.

"No wonder why lots of LGUs would like to tie bonds with Makati," she explained, "For we all know, Makati is popular to the world being the business and financial capital of the Philippines, and the country's most progressive city and primary link to international finance and global business.

"With this, we are proud that we are now sisters with the City," Mangudadatu stated.

Mangudadatu shared information about the MOA. She said that aside from having a common desire to promote and foster robust mutual understanding, camaraderie and good will, both LGU will advocate community development with a stable and progressive economic status.

Mangudadatu is proud of what is happening in her town, in connection with this, books from Makati were being endorsed to her town last July 21.
"With these new books from our sister LGU, the ratio of one book to five students will be now replaced with one book to one student," she said.

Municipality of DAS is a 6th class municipality yet Mangudadatu is determined to achieve first-class municipality level within her term. With this, she is encouraging everybody to stir up their skills in helping their own town, as what their program is saying: "Dinggin Ang Sigaw ng taongbayan, Dikitan Ang Serbisyo publiko", Maaasahan nila ang Serbisyong Mariam."
