IT'S a perfect time of the year to cool down at the white sand beaches, as sweltering heat says it’s officially summer season.
Yet, hundreds had to forego of the plans and hide off instead to downtown Davao to join with several others in the Parada Dabawenyo, a civic military parade and one of the highlights of the 77th Araw ng Davao on Sunday.

Sun.Star Davao and Sun.Star Superbalita staff, under Editor-in-Chief Stella A. Estremera, were among the 230 contingents who trod the streets of Davao under the sun's glorious heat on Sunday morning, starting from R. Magsaysay Avenue, then left to CM Recto Ave.,right to Bonifacio St., left to Legaspi St., and then to San Pedro.

Hundreds of bull caps, T-shirts, fans and free copies of Sun.Star Davao and Superbalita were given out to Dabawenyos who were one in the celebration.

The participation of Sun.Star Davao can now be expected annually, including during Kadayawan festival.

After all, what better way to feel the spirit of "Araw" than going out on the streets and be involved in the festivity?
