HOME Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), or Pag-Ibig Fund, is set to hold the third mass civil wedding dubbed as "I do, I do! Araw ng Pag-Ibig" on February 14, an official said.

Pag-Ibig-Fund South Davao Branch marketing specialist Julie Ann L. Deocarizo, speaking in Club 888 at Marco Polo Hotel Davao on Wednesday, said they are still finalizing the venue for the wedding, which will be most likely held at the People's Park.

"The agency will be sponsoring more than 90 weddings to different couples in Davao City. The wedding will be held simultaneously at 1 p.m. nationwide," she said.

Deocarizo said the agency will also be sponsoring the first meal of the newly-weds and they will be also giving gifts to them. A house and lot will also be given as a raffle prize to the lucky couple.

City Mayor Rodrigo will be the one to solemnize the civil marriage rite. At least one of the spouses should be a member of Pag-ibig Fund if they wish to join. If both are not, at least one of them is required to enroll and pay a membership fee of P100.

Deocarizo said most of those who are applying for the mass wedding are indigenous people, and they will require them to get a certificate of indigency to avail themselves of the free wedding.

She said the agency has allotted 1,000 slots in Mindanao that are set to be divided among the different regions within the week.

"We will also be tapping the barangays to help us find the couples who are due for a wedding already," said Deocarizo.

Member services officer II Janice L, Cedeño, for her part, said couples can be registered at the Pag-ibig branches in Davao City at Pryce Tower and Ecoland. The wedding is also open for couples within Davao Region and can register at their branches in Digos, Mati, and Tagum Cities.

Deocarizo said couples should register before January 25 since they will have to undergo a series of interview by Pag-Ibig and Local Civil Registry.

The holding of the civil mass wedding will in collaboration with Department of Tourism and the City Government of Davao.

The mass wedding started on February 14, 2011, which was held at the SM Ecoland and at the SMX convention center last year.
