A RECORD number of shooters came to participate in the CGD Cup 2012 "Shoot for a Cause" last January 5 at the Team Davao Firing Range in Maa.

The event's sponsor himself, Carlos G. Dominguez, did the ceremonial shoot and lead the oath of sportsmanship of the shooters, which set the record for the highest attendees in the CGD Cup held every year.

What encouraged shooters to join is the opportunity to help because the proceeds of the shoot will be donated to the Typhoon "Pablo" victims.

Dominguez, in his speech, underscored the importance of gun ownership and safe gun handling. He emphasized that guns in the hands of untrained and unqualified individuals can cause accidents and casualties. The guns used in crimes are mostly loose firearms.
