Who will be this year's 'Mutya'

FIFTEEN lovely ladies are left vying for the title of Mutya ng Davao this year, shortlisted from 30 hopefuls in the previous round. With the winner to be crowned in tonight's final search at the Davao City Recreation Center, let's get to know more about the women behind the pretty faces.
Candidate number 1 is Franchesca Enriquez, a 21-year-old staff associate at Reyes Tacandong & Co. Enriquez is looking forward to pursuing a project in youth development by way of sports programs.

18-year-old Mika Ela Datuin is the second candidate for this year. Currently taking up a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory, she is eyeing projects in developing talents in music and sports.

Christian Patria Acosta is candidate number 3 for this year's title. Acosta is currently in her fourth year of pursuing an AB Psychology degree at Ateneo de Davao University.


The fourth candidate is Jeanyvi Cahambing. The 24-year-old hopes to pursue a project in Environment Sanitation.

Candidate number 5 is Christian Gioann Yurag who hails from Parang, Maguindanao and is 21 years old. Yurag already has community outreach experience under her belt, as evidenced by her prior involvement in a feeding program.

Also coming from out of town is the sixth candidate, Paola Patricia Hernandez. Born in Surigao del Sur, the 20-year-old has been involved in projects for orphans and juvenile delinquents.

Yet another lady from outside Davao city is Lovely Liana Clapis, candidate number 7. Born in Trento, Agusan del Sur, the 20-year-old is currently working as a medical technologist.

The eighth candidate, Marie Ernestine Torro, is a fourth year student at Ateneo de Davao University taking up AB Mass Communication. Her resume includes taking part in the Cadac Essay Writing competition, campaigning against malnutrition in Brgy. 76-A and promoting organic farming in Tagakpan, all at the tender age of 20.

Jowielle Dawn Dogma is this year's ninth candidate. The 20-year-old currently studies in University of Mindanao.

The tenth candidate for this year is Angelie Villa, who is 19 years old. Villa is currently majoring in American Studies at Ateneo de Davao University, and hopes to pursue projects in community empowerment, especially in literacy.

Canididate number 11 for this year is Jessa Trillanes, yet another student taking up AB Mass Communication in Ateneo de Davao University. The 20-year-old has experience from her fund raising for San Agustin Elementary School and Lawig Bubai Inc.

18-year-old Mary Joyce Villanueva, is the 12th candidate for this year. Villanueva is currently studying at University of Mindanao.

Preicous Gladys Condez, meanwhile, is candidate number 13 for this year. The 22-year-old was born in Cotabato City, and hopes to pursue projects for teenagers where she shares her talents in painting and sketching, and in turn helps others develop similar talents.

Candidate 14 is Maria Izabelle Lainez. Currently studying BS Computer Science, the 18-year-old wants education to be accessible to street children.

Last but certainly not the least is Kristine Joy Agcopra, who is candidate number 15. The 23-year-old former cabin crew at Cebu Pacific is hoping to pursue projects regarding recycling.
