TWO major Filipino films, Talk Back and You're Dead and Somebody To Love, open this week at Gaisano Mall of Davao.

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno, aka Samurai X Part 2, also opened Wednesday, together with Robin William's The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, Disney's sequel Planes 2: Fire and Rescue, and the horror The Possession of Michael King.

"Talk Back and You're Dead" is based on the Wattpad sensation-turned-bestselling novel by Alesana Marie.

This is the first co-production of Viva Films and Skylight, a subsidiary of Star Cinema.

It marks the onscreen reunion of James (as Top) and Nadine (as Sam) following the success of their breakthrough film, "Diary ng Panget."

Joseph Marco and Yassi Pressman play siblings Red (Top's best friend) and Audrey (Sam's rival), respectively.

Following the book, the story centers on what happens when "bad boy" Top and "perfect girl" Sam fall in love.

It is a story of different people with different lives that have one thing in common and that is to find somebody to love.

First of the characters is Marga Castro (IzaCalzado), a crazy TV host who has an attitude problem and who always has a gimmick to boost his career and to stay in the limelight.

Second is Sabrina Mandrilejos (Carla Abellana), a normal and simple office girl who has a best friend, Nicco (Jason Abalos) that is in love with her but another guy from her office, Tristan Vilarama (MatteoGuidicelli), is flirting with her.

Tristan is a good looking guy who is sleeping with Valeria Schulmann (Isabelle Daza) whom he loves but Valeria rejected his love so that's why he turned to Sabrina. Meanwhile, Nicco is finding it hard to tell his best friend Sabrina that he's in love with her.

Then there's Sophie (Maricar Reyes) who cannot bare a child and is in the midst of a sinking marriage but she is still trying to save it.

Next is Amelie (Ella Cruz), who is young and in love and doubts the fidelity of her gym instructor boyfriend, Jason (AlbieCasiño).

Lastly is the story of Chloe (KirayCelis) who is attracted to a gay man and hoping that there will be a sudden change of heart and the gay guy will be attracted to her. Will they find what they are looking for?

"Planes: Fire & Rescue" is a new comedy-adventure about second chances, featuring a dynamic crew of elite firefighting aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from raging wildfire. When world famous air racer Dusty (voice of Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with veteran fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger and his courageous team, including spirited super scooper Dipper (voice of Julie Bowen), heavy-lift helicopter Windlifter, ex-military transport Cabbie and a lively bunch of brave all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers. Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.

Some people have bad days. Henry Altmann (Robin Williams) has one every day. Always unhappy and angry at the world including everyone in it, Henry sits impatiently at the doctor's office when he is finally seen by Dr. Sharon Gill (Mila Kunis). Sharon, who is enduring her own bad day, reveals that Henry has a brain aneurysm. This news makes Henry even angrier, yelling at Sharon he demands to know how much time he has left. Faced with Henry's anger and insults, Sharon abruptly tells him he has only 90 minutes.

In November 1878, a maniac murders dozens inside a Hyogo mine. He is Makoto Shishio (Tatsuya Fujiwara), a samurai who took on the role of assassin when "Battosai" laid down his sword ten years ago, until the new Meiji government found him a liability, though the attempt to eliminate him only resulted in his being badly burned. Now that he has re-emerged as a terrorist, the government calls upon the former Battosai, KenshinHimura (TakeruSota), despite his pledge not to kill that extends to carrying a "back-bladed" sword with a blunt leading edge. But with a monster like Shishio...

Michael King (Shane Johnson), who doesn't believe in God or the Devil. Following the sudden death of his wife, Michael decides to make his next film about the search for the existence of the supernatural, making himself the center of the experiment - allowing demonologists, necromancers, and various practitioners of the occult to try the deepest and darkest spells and rituals they can find on him - in the hopes that when they fail, he'll once and for all have proof that religion, spiritualism, and the paranormal are nothing more than myth.
