Filinvest breaks ground for new condo project

FILINVEST Land Inc. (FLI) is targeting to start the construction of the first phase of its mid-rise building (MRB) project, 8 Spatial, within this year.

8 Spatial, which is under the Futura Homes brand of FLI, will rise in a 3.8-hectare prime property on Julian Rodriguez Sr. Ave. (Ma-a Road). It will feature eight buildings with six floors each and a themed court yard. Each building will have 192 units, 32 units per floor.

Andy Calizo, FLI project development officer, said during the groundbreaking ceremony of 8 Spatial in Maa that they are targeting to start the construction of the first phase of the project by June once they get the necessary permits for construction.


He said the first phase will comprise of the construction of the first building, perimeter gate and entrance, and the amenities, which includes the swimming pool and clubhouse.

Calizo said they are targeting to turn over the units of the first building by the end of 2016.

He said the whole development will likely take around five to six years to complete the construction of all the eight buildings. They are set to construct around one to two buildings a year.

Josephine Gotianun-Yap, president and chief executive officer of FLI, said the eight buildings will also have its own themed courtyard.

Available units are 21 square meters (sqm.) one bed room unit, 31 sqm. one bed room unit, and the 32 sqm. two bedroom unit. The price for one bedroom units starts at P1.5 million while the two bedroom unit starts at P1.8 million.

On Friday, the company had its groundbreaking for the 8 Spatial project and the blessing of its showroom and project. The event was attended by their joint venture partners Villa Abrille family and the sellers.

Gotianun-Yap said aside from 8 Spatial, Dabawenyos can expect more projects from them, as they are looking to invest more in Davao with the stable peace and order situation and its vibrant economy.

Earlier, FLI first vice president and Visayas and Mindanao cluster head Tristan Las Marias said they are targeting to start the construction of a new midrise condominium project under the Oasis brand and will be located in a two-hectare property in Bolton.
