A GROUP of businessmen from Manado City, Indonesia will visit Davao City for a trade mission.

Mindanao Development Authority (Minda) executive director Undersecretary Janet Lopoz said the 80-man trade mission will include a business to business matching session and the re-establishment of the sisterhood agreement between Davao City and Manado City.

The Manado-based businessmen will be accompanied by North Sulawesi Governor Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, who is set to meet with Minda Secretary Luwalhati R. Antonino and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte.

She said those with existing partnerships here will be firming up their partnerships while the newer businessmen will be looking for new partners here in Davao and also in General Santos City.

Lopoz said the new Manado-based businessmen are looking partners for construction services or materials and businesses who are into furniture.

There are also those who are looking for manufacturers of beauty products and softdrinks.

She said Minda will facilitate the business to business matching of the Manado-based businessmen and those of the Mindanao-based businessmen.

They are also looking at bringing some of the businessmen to the 23rd Mindanao Business Conference at General Santos to meet with General Santos-based businessmen and also those from the other parts of Mindanao.

Lopoz said this business trip is also in preparation for the upcoming Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-Eaga) and Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Trade Fair and Business Leaders' Conference on October wherein there will also be a business to business matching session.

She said those who had initial talks in the upcoming business trip next week will only have to firm up or sign memorandum of agreements (MOA) during the BIMP-Eaga & IMT-GT Trade Fair and Business Leaders' Conference.
