KEEPING up with the ever-changing time and competition, Haier Philippines Inc. has gone a notch higher with its Davao City operation, moving to a much modern office that boasts of a showroom and improved customer support.

On Friday, executives of Haier Philippines all came down to the city to officially mark the opening of its new office in Buhangin that measures 206 meters in floor area, bigger as compared to its old office located in Lanang.

Renato Castillo, assistant general manager of company's sales and marketing department, said the new location is much visible, making it a very strategic area to draw prospect customers.

There, meticulous buyers can experience first-hand the high-end product line up of Haier and Sanyo brands, which the former bought years ago.

Castillo explained Sanyo has penetrated Davao market for 20 years, until it was transitioned into Haier which has been here for a couple of years.
The Davao branch is a sales and service office tailored fit such that it can enhance the after-sales support to customers and dealers.

"We're dealing to dealers not direct customers. All concerns of our dealers and customers, they call directly to this office. This office will call the head office in Metro Manila," he said.

He added Haier and Sanyo brands are present in all major dealers not only in Davao but also in Mindanao, enjoying either No. 1 or No. 2 spot in terms of major home appliances.

Under its product line-up, Haier and Sanyo have refrigerator, LED television, washing machine, and airconditioner.

Castillo takes pride on their refrigerator and airconditioner, two products that are eco-friendly.

Its airconditioner now runs using R410A refrigerant, which has zero ozone depleting refrigerant. The R410A, he explained is the approved replacement of its predecessor R32 refrigerant.

Meanwhile, the refrigerator uses eco-friendly R134A, replacing R12 refrigerant.

Other sales and service offices are located in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Bacolod, Pangasinan, Pampanga, Naga, Legaspi, and San Pablo.
Haier also prides itself being a the world's largest home appliance brand with a 7.8 percent retail volume share in 2011 marking for three consecutive years, according to Euromonitor.

On January 10, 2013, Haier was adjudged as 8th most innovative companies, trailing behind world's seven largest technology and telecoms by Boston Consulting Group, a global management consulting firm and the world's leading advisor on business strategy.

Haier is the only company under the category of "consumer and retail" that made it in the top 10. Its headquarters is based in Qingdao, China.

Other company executives who were present during opening: President and chief exectuive officer Kageyuki Takatsuka, Executive Assistant to the president Daisuke Kurematsu, Vice president Xiagun Mao, Area Manager-Mindanao Jurie Decierdo, Davao branch manager Almer Perez, Davao key account manager Anthony Tan, and General Manager Andy Dichos.
