HEDCOR, a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power, is set to begin the construction of its 68 megawatt (MW) hydroelectric facility in Manolo Fortich, Bukdinon in June.

Rene Ronquillo, Hedcor president and chief operating officer, during a press conference at the inauguration of the 13.6 MW Hedcor Tudaya Hydroelectric Plants, said they will construct two hydroelectric plants.

"We are targeting to finish the project within 26 months," he said.

Ronquillo said the hydroelectric plant will bring them closer to attaining their vision of producing 2 billion kilowatt (kwh) hours of clean energy.

He said they are currently generating around 730 million kwh and once the hydroelectric facility in Bukidnon is finished, it will boost the company's generation by 350 million kwh.

Earlier, Hedcor Tudaya inaugurated its 20th and 21st hydroelectric plants, Tudaya 1 (6.6 MW) and 2 (7 MW), boosting the capacities of Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) and Davao del Sur Electric Cooperative (Dasureco).
