DAVAO City-based business process outsourcing (BPO) company, Carve, hopes to expand its manpower to 1,500 in the next five years.

Carve chief imagination officer (CIO) Thomas Vincent Secuya said they currently have 50 employees since the company began and that they plan to grow it to 150 by the end of 2014.

Secuya said their recruitment and hiring is continuous throughout the year but it is very stringent.

"In any given time, we receive around 400 to 500 applications and the people who make it are just around 20," he said.

Secuya said they hire an applicant based on his or her attitude.

Carve is a non-voice business process outsourcing (BPO) outfit offering services in website development, integrations (e.g. webinars and lead pages), media (audio and video editing), support (e.g. contact migration and appointment scheduling), and internet marketing (e.g. social media management and SEO).

They provide services in Australia, New Zealand, the United States of America, Canada, and United Kingdom.

Aside from expanding its manpower, Carve has also set itself apart from the regular BPO companies.

"We want to create a culture that our employees will enjoy. We try to make things conducive," Secuya said.

Some of these include holding a worship service before work begins, pizza day every pay day and playing sports like boxing, badminton, and basketball. Recently, they created a video dance to the tune of Happy by Pharrel Williams.

"We also celebrate little things like getting our first printer and air-conditioning unit," he said.

Sarah Yuzon, whoo have been with the company for nine months already, said everything in the company is fun but at the same time they are growing in their career.
