Big discounts up in Davao fun sale

SHOPPERS can expect up to 80 percent discount on regular prices of selected items during the Big Davao Fun Sale slated on March 14 to April 16, 2014.

Davao City Tourism Operations Office officer-in-charge Lisette C. Marques said there will be specific product lines every week that will be given discounts.

Products that are given discounts during the first city-wide sale in the Philippines are: From March 14 to 16 will be general sale; March 16 to 23 will be Health & Beauty; March 24 to 30 will be electronics and gadgets; March 31 to April 6 will be Home & Travel; April 7 to 16 will be Active Lifestyle/Fashion; and March 14 to April 16 will be Dining, Fruits & Flowers.


"We are also encouraging the participating malls to come up with gimmicks like entertainment shows to attract bigger crowd during the event," Marques said.

She said the month-long event will be similar to the Dubai Shopping Festival and the Great Singapore Sale.

During the launch of the month long event, Department of Tourism (DOT) Assistant Secretary Art Boncato Jr. said the event will not only promote the city as a major tourism destination but also as a mjor shopping hub in the country.

Participating malls are Abreeza-Ayala Malls, Gaisano Grand Mall, Gaisano Mall of Davao, Gaisano Mall of Toril, NCCC Mall, Robinson's, SM City Davao, and SM Lanang Premier.

This is also in cooperation with the city government and the Philippine Retailers Association while Cebu Pacific is the official airline partner.
