THE Business Bureau released a total of 4,809 renewed business permits as of Thursday, an official reported.

The bureau's officer-in-charge Lawrence D. Bantiding, who was a guest in Thursday's Ispeak Forum at the City Hall, said that the number of permits released was among those 23, 907 businesses that applied for business renewals so far Thursday.

He said that many of those who applied either for business permits or business permit renewals can't have their permits released immediately for lack of necessary documents.

"The remaining are still on the process of renewals. The reason for that is we are dependent of their actions like when they will pay because some of them told us that they still have to find money to pay or look for the owner to sign a cheque," Bantiding said.

He added that the office can only process permits once owners provide the complete documents and pay the amounts.

They are expecting establishments to flock their office to get their permits when the renewal ends on January 20.

Of the 23,907, a total of 18,702 applications were received at the City Council while 5,205 were processed at the one-stop-shop that was put up at the NCCC Mall. The bureau also recorded 220 new business applications.

Bantiding said many of the registered businesses came from the retail industry like sari-sari stores and malls.

In 2013, the bureau reported 22,144 applications for business permit renewals and 358 new businesses in the same period.

The schedule for renewals at the NCCC Mall and SP lobby for the remaining days will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. While the schedule for January 18 to 19 will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On January 20, they can process their renewals from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at NCCC Mall and from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight at the SP Lobby.

The requirements for permit renewal are: (a) original 2013 business permit, (b) original 2013 computerized official receipts and if it is manual, secure certificate of tax payment from City Treasurer Office, (c) original barangay clearance, (d) certified list of employees and their corresponding positions, (e) secure market clearance or certificate for public market from CTO and City Administrator and DCOTT stall holders, (f) if the taxpayer is represented; special power of attorney for individual secretary certificate for corporation to transact with the bureau together with the valid ID's of all signatories, (g) community tax certificate, (h) gross sales certification form from CTO, and (i) fire safety inspection certificate 2013.
