Doce Pares holds promotion test

NINE arnis students from California will take the promotional test for Blackbelt of the Doce Pares “Multi-style” System on Saturday. Doce Pares executive director Gerald Cañete said that two of them—Dr. Andy Leeka and Timothy Piering—are candidates for the Second Grade Black belt, while seven students will vie for their First Black Rank. They seven are Anthony Castro, Cyrus Lutero, Manuel Paglinawan, Jon Palos, Jeremy Cardenas, Esteban Estrada and Epifanio Fernandez.

Two others Anthony Partible and Bradley Berning will be tested for brown Belt.

All the students are members of the Los Angeles Doce Pares, headed by its founder and head instructor Engr. Erwin Mosqueda, a former Cebu resident who left for the US in 2000. He is a multi-titled world champion and served as the chief instructor of Doce Pares World Headquarters from 1996 until 2000.


The test will be held at 1 p.m. at the 3rd floor of the Doce Pares Training Center in Banilad. Members of the Board of Examiners Assessors are GM Val Pable, GM Nick Elizar, GM Andres Canete and GM Felix Gutang and GM Loloy Uy. Masters Victor Tui, Rudy Rey, Jose Borces, Albert Sales and Harry Talledo will assist the board during the assessment. (PR)
