PAJO National High School (PNS) advanced to the semifinals after crushing Don Gerardo Ll. Quano Memorial Night High School (DGO), 25-13, 25-11, yesterday for its fourth win in the Shakey’s Girls’ V-League Central and Eastern Visayas elimination round in the Aznar Coliseum.

PNS took the top spot in Pool B with a 4-0 record and was set to go for its fifth win against Mary Help of Christians School (1-3) at press time last night.

“We got lucky. But of course in the semis, we’re going to give it all and aim for the win as much as possible,” Pajo head coach Fr. Rey Manayon said.

On the other hand, the top two teams in Bracket A will be a toss-up between defending Central Visayas champion University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) and 19th Milo Little Olympics secondary champion (USC-BED) Warriors. Both are undefeated in three games and were set to face each other for the right to finish No. 1 and avoid Pajo in the semifinal round.

Meanwhile, the Southwestern University (SWU) Baby Cobras defeated Saint Theresa’s College, 25-14, 25-17, to take the second place in Bracket B and bag a seat in the semifinals.

In the other games yesterday, MHS beat Paref Southcrest School (PSS), 15-25, 27-25, 25-14, while University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USP-F) won over Sacred Heart School- Hijas de Jesus, 25-9, 25-11.

The semifinal matches will be held today at the Aznar Coliseum.
