AFTER foreign triathletes like Brent McMahon and Caroline Steffen helped raise P3 million to build 20 houses in the Ironman GK Village in Bantayan, it’s now the turn of Filipino triathletes to help.

Sunrise Events Inc. (SEI), which organized the outreach project, will continue the charitable activity, this time tapping Pinoy triathletes William Veto, Gadric Chusenfu, and Joseph Palisoc. The three will join the 2014 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii on Oct.10. Veto qualified for the race, while Chusenfu and Palisoc both earned slots from the Kona Lottery.

“The three athletes will be coming to Cebu together with the SEI after the World Championships to help construct houses and probably add more houses to the GK Village,” Princess Galura, SEI project director, told Sun.Star Cebu in a phone interview.

The triathletes will not only bring the funds they will raised but will also help in constructing houses like what the foreign triathletes did last Aug.4.

“We can’t tell yet on how many houses will be added it will depend on how much they money they can raise,” said Galura.
