GILAS Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes has formally announced the inclusion of Paul Lee to the line-up of the Philippine National team to the 2014 Fiba World Championship in Spain that will start on August 30.

Reyes said that Lee will take the place of Larry Fonacier, who begged off last month because of recurring injuries.

“We are tapping Paul Lee to take Larry Fonacier’s spot and Andray Blatche as our naturalized player for the World Cup,” Reyes said in his tweet.

This development came hours after Gilas suffered a 114-64 loss to Ukraine on the final day of the 2014 Antibes Invitational Basketball Tournament. Reyes rested both Blatche and Lee, who are recuperating from injuries, in the game.

Ukrained knocked down 19 triples, while dominating the inside starting from the second quarter.
