THE Suson Siblings Jan Jospeph and Joshua will be leading the Cebuanos in the upcoming High Momentum Bouldering Competition on Oct. 25 at the Vertigo Climbing Center in Metrosports.

The competition, sponsored by Habagat, is a follow-up to the national sports climbing event dubbed the Lust For Line Rock Climbing Competition in Cantabaco, Toledo City days before.

“My brother and I will be joining this competition and we expect tough competition since a lot of sports climbers nationwide will be joining the Toledo event and they’d be staying to join the High Momentum competition,” said Jan Joseph Suson.

Suson recently finished third place in the 17-under division of the Nus-Black Diamond Boulderactive 2014 in Singapore, while his older brother Joshua won the Novice category.

According to Habagat’s Jake M. Ave they saw the resurgence of sports climbing and want to provide Cebu’s aspiring sports climbers a venue to develop their skills.

“It has been a while since Habagat hosted a sports climbing competition. We decided to host it again in support of our growing climbing community,” said Ave.

Ave added that this will be the start of their series of local sports climbing competitions.

The event eyes to attract competitors not only from Visayas and Mindanao but from Luzon as well.

The registration fee is pegged at P350 with jersey. Registration starts on Sept. 1 and will have a cut-off on Oct. 1. Registration centers will be at the Habagat Main Office on Archbishop Reyes Ave. or at the Vertigo Climbing Center. ISL
