Sagidaz to hold fixie bike race-A A +A

AS PART of their first anniversary, the Sagidaz Fixie riders will be hosting the Sagidaz Track Fest slated on Aug. 30 at Cansaga Bay Bridge in Consolacion.
Fixie riders from Cebu, Luzon, Bacolod and Ilo-Ilo are joining the event, which features drag sprint, track stand and longest skid.
Nine members of Laguna Fixed Gear group, nine from Bacolod, and five from Ilo-Ilo brakeless team are coming.
Aside from those participants, Sagidaz group are fielding in 50 of their members to join the fray.
Independent riders and other fixie groups in Cebu are also invited to the join.
According to Sagidaz President Bong Durano, fixie riders community is now growing in Cebu compared to 2010 when they were only four.
“In Manila they are around 10,000 riders because they started last 2008. While in Cebu we have 200 fixie riders which is much better compare to 2010,” Durano told Sun.Star Cebu yesterday.
The fixed gear competition will start at 9:30 p.m, just in time when the roads are clear.
Cash prizes, trophies, bike parts, and t-shirts are at stake for the top three winners in every category.
Registration fee is at P150 for the drag sprint, while P100 for the track stand and longest skid. Inclusive with mud saver and a raffle ticket.
