CCSC to stage fight fest

THE Cebu City Sports Commission is adding another depth on its variety of events.

Starting on the last weekend of August, CCSC will present to the Cebuanos a rare contact sports attraction, the Bakbakan sa Sugbu, a whole day event that will feature comptition of different martial arts and contact sports events.

“The Sports Commission has put up a plan for a monthly fight fest named Bakbakan sa Sugbu. It will be a whole day affair every last Saturday of the month. It will feature competitions for karatedo, arnis, weightlifting, MMA, and the finale – amateur boxing,” Hayco said.


CCSC has already built an outdoor boxing ring and gym at the Sports Institute in Sawang Calero.

“We opened this for our summer but free clinics are still being offered,” said Hayco.
