SOME 200 hardcore trail runners are going to experience a daunting trail, but with an overwhelming view, as the second edition of the 2014 Naga Eco-Trail Challenge unfolds on June 28 at Baywalk Stage, Naga City.

Slippery terrain, steep cliffs, uphill and downhill creek tracks. These are just of the many challenges runners should confront to complete the foot race in Naga City.

Race organizer Lemuel Sam Repollo said the routes are very technical, especially in the 21-kilometer category.

Some runners will reach the Magdug summit, which allows a panoramic view covering Naga City, Minglanilla, Talisay City and Cebu City.

Aside from 21K, which had drawn more than 100 trail runners, there are the 5K and 10K races for participants who prefer short distances.

“The turning point of 10K is Magduk, the 21K will also pass through it. Only the 5K runners are not heading to the peak,” said Repollo. RSC
