SOME 2,000 runners will experience the new route of Hunat Sugbo: Dagan Para ni Maning when its fourth edition blasts off on June 22 at Parkmall, Mandaue City.
Parklane International Hotel Marketing Assistant Maureen Eliot said this will be the first run of Hunat Sugbo that will be in Parkmall.
“The 21-kilometer distance will pass through Angelicum Memorial Park where Manuel Ting is buried,” said Eliot.
Hunat Sugbo also added new categories to go along with the 21K—the 3K, 6K and 12K. Last year the categories were the 5K, 10K and 21K.
As of yesterday, more than 1,500 have already enlisted; the 21K raked in the most participants with 588 runners; the 3K followed with 348 racers; and the 12K drew 300 runners. The 6K, so far, has 294 confirmed participants.
The organizers expect to draw 2,000 serious runners and running enthusiasts come race day. With the implementation of the new venue, veteran race director Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (Safe) is tapped to assure the smoothness and safety on the race.
Part of the proceeds will be used to fund a medical mission with Iesu Christi Community.
Registration fee is pegged at P350 for the 3K, P450 for the 6K, P550 for the 12K, and P650 for the 21K. All the categories are inclusive with singlet, race bib, and breakfast buffet after the race.
Registration is on-going until June 20 at Parkmall grocery entrance, Runnr Store in Ayala, and Parklane Hotel Lobby until June 21.
