ELMER Navarro pushed strong on his pedal right from the get go and did not look back to snatch the category A title of the road bike race of the 1st Sugbo Seawall Side Bicycle Oval Race yesterday at the South Road Properties.

Navarro topped the 28-kilometer road bike race after finishing in 45 minutes 56 seconds. He was followed by Ramonito Espinosa, who crossed the finish line in 47:01 to take second place, while Jun Pagnanawon clocked 47:03 to finish third.

“The race route was nice. I really prepared for this race. I broke away in the sixth lap. Some riders caught up with me in the seventh lap so I had to go all out in the last three laps. I managed to build a safe lead and I never let go of it,” Navarro told Sun.Star Cebu in Cebuano yesterday.
