Andrin, Simat win Dagan Para sa Kalikupan

LOVELY Andrin and Kenyan Isaac Simat topped the 10-kilometer run of the women’s and men’s division in the Dagan Para sa Kalikupan organized by Cebu Climate Change Association Inc. (CCCAI) yesterday at Parkmall, Mandaue City.

In the men’s division, it was an all Kenyan-show as Kenyans emerged as the top three finishers. Kenyans were led by Simat who crossed the finish line in 33 minutes and 30 seconds, Douglas Mwiti clocked 33:59 to take second place, and Abraham Missos came third in 34:50.

The 10K women’s foot race was highlighted with a close finish from Andrin and Monaliza Ambasa. Andrin gained the upper hand and crossed the finish line in 45:13, 29 seconds ahead of Ambasa . Ambasa clocked in 45:42, while Meeries Ramirez placed third with a time of 46:48.


In the 5K category, men’s division was won by Robert Daang in 18:35, Prince Joery Lee crossed the finish line in 18:45 to finish second, while Kenyan James Mibei came third in 18:59. The women’s division was topped by Cherry Andrin in 23:41, Jane Andrin came second in 24:21 and Lovely Grace Pena followed in 25:20 to take third place.

In the 3K category, John Cliff Debulosan (9:47) topped the men’s division, Ronnie Andrin (10:16) took second place, and Fritz Anor (10:32) placed third. The women’s division was won by Saralie Quezon (12:15), Kisha Delechos (12:20) and Karla Cosep
(12:34) took second and third place, respectively.

The run drew about 600 runners, parts of its proceeds will be used to support the national greening project of CCCAI which aim is to help the environment through mangrove and tree planting in Cebu.
