Magbologton, Oporto win 100K Ultra run

JEBOY Magbologton of Team Laspag and Team Arcindie’s Rhoda Oporto topped the men’s and women’s 100-kilometer ultra marathon organized by Cebu Ultra Runners Club (CUC) last Sunday, which started in Bogo City and ended in Danao City.

Magbologton dominated the grueling ultra marathon in 11 hours 19 minutes and 21 seconds, winning by almost an hour over Brian Lou Guillen who crossed the finish line in 12:13:23. Feljoy Canada clocked 12:39:42 for third place.

In the women’s 100K division, Oporto clocked 13:18:15 to claim the division title over Jade Abellana, who crossed the finish line in 13:26:11. Mary Luz Shimizu finished in 14:20:38 to take third place.


In the 50K category, Team Laspag’s Enrique Mangas clocked 4:37:12 to top the men’s title. He was followed by Philip Ramos in 5:07:17, and Voltaire Montebon at third in 5:11:50. Winning the women’s division were Era Villacorta in 5:41:15, Jovelyn Roca in 6:16:13 and Levi Glaize Pono in 6:42:17.

The CUC will also hold the event – Run to Donate a Blood-- on June 8 at Regional Blood Center- DOH Compound, Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City.
