ARMED with new determination, the University of San Carlos Warriors are ready to take on the fellow Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) school member and unbeaten Southwestern University Cobras at the start of the 5-day Cebu Leg of the FilOil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup 2014 at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex starting at 7 p.m.

Their losses to Manila teams, the Jose Rizal University and the University of Perpertual Help, provided the Warriors with lessons that could be used in their game against the Cobras and two other UAAP teams – De La Salle University Green Archers and the University of the East Red Warriors.

The Warriors will rely heavily on two African players, Congolese Espoir Toyambi and Shooster Olago, who will take turns in limiting SWU’s meanest weapon Sanjo Landry, who has been working wonders for the Cobras in its previous games.

Aside from Sanjo, USC also needs to put a stop on the reigning Cesafi MVP Mark Jayven Tallo who leads the league in assist.
