Cebu School of Chess sets qualifying tourney qualifying

THE second qualifying tournament for the Cebu School of Chess (CSC) Kiddies tournament is scheduled on Saturday and Sunday at the CSC in P. del Rosario St.

Last May 4, James Andrew Balbona and Edsel Vosotros took their respective spots to the Grand Finals which is slated in December.

Two more players are scheduled to qualify to the grand finals when the tournament ends on Sunday.


The tournament will follow a 7-Round Swiss Sytem format with time control of one hour with 10 seconds increment.

The champion will get P1,000 plus trophy while the second to the fourth place will earn P500; P300 and P200 respectively. The Best Female finisher will be rewarded with P200.

Registration fee is P100 for the members and P150 for the non-members.
