THE Cebu Home and Builders Centre (CHBC) will hold its first running event—The Builders’ Run—on June 29 at Parkmall, Mandaue City.

The event is part of the 12th industry anniversary of CHBC and they will be teaming up with Parkmall. The event will be for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga Foundation and parts of the proceeds will help build additional houses in the community of Co Family Farm at Gawad Kalinga Village in Kinuguitan, Misamis Oriental.

The run will have the open, employees and industry professional categories.

The professional category is exclusive for professionals like architects, engineers, interior designers and business operators, while the employees category is for CHBC workers.

The Open and Employees categories will have the 5K, 8K and 16K divisions, while industry professionals will only have the 8K and 16K divisions.

The top runners in the men’s and women’s 16K will get P5,000 cash and P5,000 worth of CHBC gift certificates, while the second placers will get P3,000 and P3,000 worth of CHBC gift certificates.

“Since we are providing building materials, our synergy with Gawad Kalinga is natural.

CHBC has been active in charitable works, the latest we have was the giving of aid in Northern Cebu and Bohol,” said Michael Co, the COO of CHBC.

Co added that they chose Misamis Oriental as a beneficiary since it’s the hometown of their grandfather and is where the CHBC business started.

“Something has to start in a very neglected part in Mindanao. This project can really help the people there,” said Co.

Registration is ongoing at Runnr Ayala, Parkmall, A Runner’s Circle (ARC) at Raintree Mall, The Brick Multi-Sport Store in J Center Mall, and CHBC branches. (RSC)
