Erco FC takes top spot in 3rd BRO

ERCO FC took the leadership in the Men’s Open division of the week-long 3rd BRO Nationals Football Festival at the Tambasia field of the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC).

Erco grabbed the top spot of the Men’s Open division after a lopsided 7-1 victory over Airlifters FC.

Jessie Roy Melgo scored an early goal for a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. Antonio Semolina quickly followed it up with a goal two minutes after. JR Castillon made it 3-0 at halftime after hitting the back of the net in the 40th minute.


Erco FC’s scoring romp continued in the second half with Julius Acre adding his name in the scoring tally with a goal in the 51st minute. Castillon would make his second goal in the 70th minute.

Jalor Soriano scored the lone goal of Airlifters FC in the 74th minute. Christian Juezan added insult to injury by scoring in the 79th minute.

University of Cebu (UC)-Koreans had a successful tournament debut, walking away with a tight 3-2 win over Don Bosco United FC-Erco.

UC-Koreans were playing against UC-Nigerians as of press time.

Erco FC is at the top with four points, followed by Don Bosco United FC-Erco with three, UC-Koreans with three, and then UC-Nigerians with a point.

Meanwhile, the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (Cviraa) squads, in which their core is composed of DBTC players, remained unbeaten in their respective divisions after toying around with their opponents.

DBTC-Cviraa annihilated Alegria FC, 26-0, in the Under-18 division.

DBTC edged out Liloan FC, 4-3, in the other Under-18 division match to capture its first win the tournament.

DBTC-Cviraa leads the Under-18 division with six points, followed by Liloan FC with three points and then DBTC also with three points.
