UV battles USPF in Talisay beach volleyball final

JADE Becaldo and Louie Tipgos beat the University of San Jose Recoletos (UJS-R), 25-21 to advance to the finals of the Talisay City beach volleyball invitational competition in Talisay City.

Becaldo and Tigpos topped Bracket B and earned a slot in the crossover semifinals after beating Relab Taneo and Rommel Pepito of Southwestern University (SWU) , 25-14, and Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT), 25-8.

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation’s (USPF) Edmar Bonono and Left John Tormis topped Bracket A after beating USJR and University of Cebu.


Becaldo said they had a good game and they hope they will be able to continue their winning streak until the finals next Saturday.

UV will play USPF, which beat SWU, 25-15.

In the women’s finals, USPF’s Rochelle Rica and Gelly Murpos will play UV’s Apple Saraum and Jusabelle Brillo.

UV beat USJR’s Jessa Marie Jorquia and Irene Sasil, 25-9, in their crossover match, while USPF won against SWU Florence Rodriguez and Charrylou Wave Paden The tournament is one of the highlights of the Takas sa Talisay, Kagawasan sa Sugbo Celebration. (ISL)
