THE Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) junior division teams are also gearing up for a
new basketball season as they join a tough seniors division competition of the 1st Poblacion Summer Basketball Tournament in Barangay Poblacion in the town of Cordova.

The top four teams of the canceled 2013 Cesafi High School tournament will be seeing action in the tournament that is organized by Remar Baguio
through the auspices of Barangay Captain Teodorico Casquejo Jr. and the barangay council.

The Palarong Pambansa-bound Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles, Univeristy
of San Carlos Baby Warriors, the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers and the Cebu Eastern College Dragons will be taking part in the tournament, which will also be participated by local teams Barangay Catarman, Black Mamba, Buagsong and ABY.

The Eagles and the Dragons are in Bracket A, while the Baby Lancers and the Baby Lancers and the Baby Warriors are in Bracket B.

As of press time, the local teams are yet to be classified.

The school teams are allowed to field players who have not seen action in the Cesafi collegiate competition and commercial tournaments, while the local teams can field players of their choice as long as they
are residents of Cordova.

Cesafi high school teams see this tournament as opportunity to help in their respective bids in the Cesafi 2014 regular season.

The organizers are giving out P20,000 to the champion, P12,000 to the runner-up and P8,000 to the third placers. They will also be giving individual awards such as the tournament MVP, Mythical Five Selection and Sportsmanship Award.

Aside from the Senior Division, the tournament is also holding an
SK tournament, which will be participated by six teams and the Juniors
Division competition that has drawn 10 teams. (RCM)
