THE Cebu City Sports Commission will add futsal and four other sports to its summer grassroots development program, which will start on April 21.
Aside from futsal or indoor football, CCSC will also add karatedo, taekwondo and weightlifting to its summer program which also has arnis, archery, badminton, chess, dancesports, softball/baseball, table tennis, track and field, boxing, volleyball and basketball.
Although judo is not part of the disciplines offered in all venues, CCSC is looking to include the sport in selected areas.
CCSC identified 16 school gymnasiums as the center for their free summer training that is held in coordination with the Cebu City Government, the Philippine Sports Commission and the Department of Education Cebu City.
For the North District, interested participants may visit the City Central School and the elementary schools in Hipodromo, Lahug, Mabolo, Tejero, Zapatera, Bo. Luz and Talamban.
Those in South District may train at the following elemenatry schools—Don Vicente Rama Memorial, Pardo, Mambaling, Labangon Punta Princesa, Guadalupe, Inayawan and San Nicolas.
The program is free to all kids between seven and 14 years old.
Basketball training will be at 1 to 3 p.m., while the other sports events will be at 2 to 4 p.m. Trainings are scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
