TWO players from the three Cebu teams in the 2014 SeaOil –National Basketball Training Camp (NBTC) High School National Championships were named in the Mythical Five Selection in their divisions.

Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles forward Felixberto “Jan-Jan” Jaboneta IV and Joshua Ramas of San Isidro Parish School made it to the Mythical First Five Selection in Division 1 and Division 2, respectively.

Jaboneta and Ramas were the Most Outstanding Players during the Leg Finals held last February.

The 16-year old Ramas admitted he was surprised that he was named among the best in Division 2 since the team did not reached the quarterfinal round after they lost their two elimination round games.

“I was overwhelmed. I never expected to be named into the Mythical 5 Selection. My inclusion (in the Mythical 5) motivated me (to continue to work hard) to improve my skills,” Ramas told Sun.Star Cebu.

Now on his fourth year, the 5’9” Ramas is planning to try out with Cebu’s top collegiate teams, the Southwestern University Cobras.

Jaboneta on the other hand reserved all his marbles in the semifinal round but his 21 points were not enough to carry SHS-AdC to victory in the semifinal round against National University Bullpups.

Two Cebuano players also romped their skills in helping Extreme All-Star to a lopsided 123-94 win over the Mako All-Star.

SHS-AdC forward Arnie Padilla and San Beda Red Cubs point guard Adven Jess Diputado, a former SHS-AdC player, were vital cogs in Extreme’s victory. Padilla finished with six points and had eight rebounds and two blocks.
