Kenyans rule SM2SM run-A A +A

KENYANS Immaculate Chemutai and Alex Melly topped 21K division in the SM2SM Run yesterday at the SM City Cebu.
Chemutai, runnning for the first time in Cebu, crossed the finish line in 1:20:40 and beat reigning champion Mary Joy Tabal by more than two minutes (1:22:22). Susan Jemutai got third place in 1:27:05. The Kenyans swept top three spots in the men’s division with Melly taking first in 1:05:50. He beat Benjamin Kipzaki (1:06:05) and Eliphiz Kipngetich (1:08:16).
Triathlete couple Noy and Amale Jopson captured the 21K couples title in 1:43:38 over Raphael and Wilma Lugay (1:50:16) and Joffrey and Leonora Villamor (1:57:52).
In the 12K couples division, Mendel and Lohriz Lopez won the title in 58:58 over Loreto and Jovelyn Roca (1:00:02) and Donovan and Doreen Jabines (1:02:59).
After topping most of her events in the Central Visayas Regional Athletics Associaton (Cviraa) meet, Lovely Andrin is back to the weekend runs and this time won the 12K title after in 50:45. She was followed by Keisha Mae Delechos (50:47) and Christy Tutor (57:20). Willy Tanui took the men’s title in 36:54 over beat Isaac Simat (36:55) and Abraham Missos (39:11).
In the 6K category, Cherry Andrin and Rafael Piscos captured the women’s and men’ title respectively. Andrin clocked in at 24:53 to beat sister Jhean (25:39) and Mary Jane Beboso (26:26). Piscos (19:16) finished some 14 seconds clear of Robert Daang (19:30), while John Darryl Manus got third place in 20:10.
