VERGILIO SILVANO vows to bounce back on a high note by knocking out challenger Mark Anthony Florida tonight in his return to his hometown in Dalaguete, Cebu.

Silvano is defending his Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) light flyweight belt against Florida and promised to knock him out at the Dalaguete Sports Complex, which is usually jam-packed when the 23-year-old hometown hero fights.

Silvano suffered a heart-breaking unanimous decision defeat to International Boxing Federation mini-flyweight titleholder Katsunari Takayama in Osaka, Japan in December.

Silvano and Florida both tipped the scales at 108 pounds yesterday.

Florida has lost three straight bouts after an impressive 8-0 start to his career.

Silvano is 17-3-1 with 10 knockouts, while Florida is 8-3with seven knockouts.

In the main supporting bout, unbeaten Jhaleel Payao (7-0, 5 KOs) guns for the vacant PBF super flyweight crown against journeyman Dondon Jiminea (28-21-4, 14 KOs).

Payao hit the scales at the 115-pound limit, while Jiminea was two pounds overweight at 117 pounds, which means he forfeits his chance to win the title and must wear the heavier 10-ounce gloves.

Up-and-comer Charlie Pucdol (5-2, 4 KOs) banners the undercard in a rematch with Junie Salogaol (4-6-4, 4 KOs). Pucdol owns a unanimous decision win over Salogaol in their meeting last year.

Also in the undercard, unbeaten Keenan Villaflor (3-0, 1 KO) takes on fellow prospect Richard Rosales (6-2-1, 2 KOs); Jerry Castroverde slugs it out with winless Junie Villacrusis (0-2); Gary Rojo (1-6) is up against Michael Kaibigan (1-1, 1 KO); and Carlo Demecillo (1-0, 1 KO) trades leathers with newcomer Prex Cabilla.
