PHL withdraws Asian Youth participation

THE travel advisory issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs recently prompted the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) to withdraw its participation in the 2014 Asian Youth Championships set Jan. 24-31 in Bangkok, Thailand.

ABAP executive-director Ed Picson said that the decision came after the DFA raised to Crisis Alert Level II on Filipino nationals trying to enter the country following the declaration of state emergency by the Thai government over the city and some other areas in Thailand.
