CEBUANO Eliud Poligrates wishes Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters the best of luck going to the quarterfinal round of the PLDT myDSL-PBA Philippine Cup.

Poligrates, the Cebuano hotshot who became an intergral part of coach Norman Black’s rotation in the early part of the conference, parted ways with the team that picked him 27th overall last Monday after PBA Commissioner Chito Salud approved the three-player trade between Talk ‘N Text and Air21 Express.

Tropang Texters sent Poligrates and Fil-Canadian forward Sean Anthony and its first round pick for 2016 to the Express camp in exchange for the Express’s leading scorer Nino “KG” Canaleta.

“I have no choice. Isa pa gusto sa akong manager (Danny Espiritu) nga i-trade ko kay di man ko gamiton sa Talk ‘N Text. Wa ko kahibawo sa hinungdan ngano gi-trade ko pero sa akong tan-aw basin na politika ko. Pero decision sad gyud ni boss Danny nga i-trade ko sa Air21 kay aron naa koy exposure. Kuwang man sila og point guard (And one thing, my manager wants to trade me off since Talk ‘N Text won’t use me. I don’t know why I’m being traded, but this may have to do with politics. But the decision is really to trade me to Air21 for exposure. They lack a point guard),” Poligrates told Sun.Star Cebu yesterday.

The decision to trade Poligrates and Anthony for Canaleta caught the three players off guard as TnT was preparing for the quarterfinal round while Air21 is packing their suitcase for vacation.

“I’m ok. The way I see it, I didn’t do any wrong (in TnT). I was only absent once in our practice, when I had fever. Anyway, I wish Talk ‘n Text good luck, because even if I’m being traded off, I’m still part of the team. But honestly, I don’t want to be in a strong team since I won’t be of much use. I want to be in a slower team for exposure. I will have a vacation in Cebu this Friday, I’ll just wait for Air21 to tell me when the practice will be (for the Commissioner’s Cup),” added Poligrates, who signed up a two-year contract with TnT last November.

Poligrates, played 11 games with the Tropang Texters. His best game was on his debut game when TnT defeated sister team Meralco Bolts 89-80 where the for SWU Cobras guard played 20 minutes and scored 15 points, grabbed one rebound and dished out one assists to earn the best player of the game award.

But his playing time dwindled, especially after TnT signed free agent Danny Seigle in December.

In 11 games with TnT, Poligrates averaged 3.36 points, 1.45 rebounds, 0.55 assist and 0.09 steal per game.

“I just hope Air21 can give me exposure. They need a point guard, which I can provide. And to the Cebuanos who support me, I hope they’ll also support Air21 and I hope they won’t get bored supporting me,” Poligrates continued.
