4th Sinulog Cup kicks off today

THE fourth Sinulog Football Festival starts today at the San Roque Parish Football Field and Aboitiz Sports Field with 168 teams.

This festival is sponsored by Super Metro and organized and sanctioned by the Cebu Football Association (CFA).

The Boys Under-18 has the most number of teams with 24, followed by Boys Under-15 and Boys Under-13 both with 20 teams.


The Boys Under-18 competition is set to fire up with the presence of Sacred Heart School-Jesuits, Paref-Springdale, Don Bosco Techology College and Abellana National School, which all won titles last year.

Leylam FC, a newcomer is also a team to watch, as it also joined an international tournament in Singapore.

San Roque Football Club, Sacred Heart School, Saint Theresa’s College are the top teams in Girls Under-18 category.

Rico Navarro of the CFA said in during the press conference that they are planning to make a standardized rules to be implemented in all football festivals. (Rhey Anne Alvarico and Bervienne Calimbo, USJ-R Mass Com Interns)
