THE league’s best players will be teaming up as the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) takes a brief respite for the annual All-Star Games today at the Cebu Coliseum.

However, just like in the regular season, it’s a University of the Visayas (UV) and Southwestern University (SWU) rivalry as each team was spiced with players from both collegiate powerhouse teams.

The East Team, where UV belongs, has eight Green Lancers and the West squad has seven Cobras.

In addition, the East Team will be coached by UV head coach Felix “Donbel” Belano Jr, while the West will have SWU mentor Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba calling the shots.

The players of the East team are UV players Mike Harry Nzeusseu, John Abad, Hernal Escosio, Arvie Cabanero, Alfred Codilla, Cris Perolino, Raffy Octobre and Francisco Arong, University of San Carlos players Ahmed Salihou, Stephen Que, Miguel Plata, Ian Ortega and Nico Magat and Cebu Institute of Technology-University Floyd Taboada and Joshua de la Cerna.

The West team has Monbert Arong, Mark Jayven Tallo, Bernie Bregondo, Darryl Goloran, Adams Mohammad, Fabrice Siewe and Landry Sanjo from SWU, James Regalado, Kyle Lajato and Miguel Tabaloc from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, Kim Gomez, Noel Villanueva and Jan Auditor of the University of Cebu and Jomari Sollano and Art Camello of University of Southern Philippines Foundation.

Before the college all-star game, Cesafi will also have the 3-point shoot-out, slam dunk competition, and the high school All-Star contest.

Former Cesafi star June Mar Fajardo of the Petron Blaze Boosters will also be honored for making it to the Gilas Pilipinas team.
