CEBU’s aspiring tennis players will have a chance to enhance their skills as the On the Rise (OTR) tennis camp will be conducting a two-day clinic on Aug. 10 and 11 at the Consolacion Tennis Courts, Laray, Consolacion Cebu.

The clinic is presented by Consolacion Mayor Teresa P. Alegado, which supports the OTR Philippines grassroots tennis development program.

Ken Salimbangon said they have a total of 15 qualified tennis coaches to supervise the clinic. About six Australian coaches from OTR Hong Kong headed by coach Graeme Foster, three local coaches from OTR Palawan headed by coach Pet Santos and six local coaches from OTR Cebu headed by Nestor Toledo will be featured.

The clinic is open to all age groups, from five years old to advanced adults.

“Our aim, over the two-day clinic, is to introduce basic skills to newcomers, help further develop technical skills of all players in the hope of bringing their game to the next level so that they can continue to enjoy this “game for life,” Salimbangon said in a press statement.

Salimbangon said the training will involve specific fitness drills related to tennis movement. They will also work on fast feed drills as well as more open, match-based drills and games. We will also discuss injury prevention.

The registration fee is at P400 for the two-day activity. It can be paid to Nestor Toledo, whose contact numbers are 0917-9118779 and 0922-9488739. Deadline of registration will be on Aug. 8, 2013 at 12 noon.
